We have carefully selected a variety of accommodation to offer comfort, great locations and excellent value at prices to suit all budgets. All of them offer quick and easy access to the Cairngorms National Park Balmoral Estate - we have a special, privileged relationship with the Estate (the Queen's Summer Residence) and are delighted to be able to offer - from November to March - excellent accommodation on a single room basis; ideal for groups and a fabulous, unique location. The School House in Ballater is a newly refurbished hostel run by Alan & Cathy Low to very high standards. The accommodation comprises 2 brightly furnished bunk rooms with 3 bunk beds in each. The rooms have their own shower and toilet and TV. There is a communal sitting room with open fire and a dining room where continental breakfast is served - tea and coffee is available here all day long. Langdale B&B is an elegant 4* STB B&B centrally situated in the picturesque village of Ballater. Mark and Janet Bailey offer friendly, high quality and great value for money accommodation. The Old West Manse B&B in Banchory is a family run 4* STB B&B close to the centre of the lovely Deeside town. Keith and Carole Murphy are fantastic hosts and take pride in offering first class accommodation, food and service. The Deeside Hotel in Ballater is another well situated, family run 3* STB hotel which offers ensuite accommodation and home made, locally sourced food. Real ales and a wide selection of malt whiskies can be enjoyed in the atmosphere of comfort and relaxation. Balgonie Country House Hotel is a 4* STB Country House set in 4 acres of quiet, mature gardens with truly superb views overlooking Ballater Golf Course towards the hills of Glen Muick beyond. It has 9 individually decorated ensuite bedrooms, each named after a fishing pool on the River Dee. The hotel dining room provides excellent Scottish cuisine and a fine wine list. Friendly staff offer attentive, yet unobtrusive service. Darroch Learg Hotel in Ballater is another superb 4* STB Country House hotel with some of the best views on Deeside and an excellent restaurant. The 12 bedrooms are all ensuite and 2 of them have fourposter beds. Built in 1888 as a private residence, it retains the character of a country house and the antique furnishings and quiet elegance create a peaceful atmosphere in which to relax. Family run by Nigel and Fiona Franks, the service is friendly and attentive. Hilton Craigendarroch is a very well equipped resort on the outskirts of Ballater with commanding views of the valley of the River Dee. A 3* STB hotel, it has 45 ensuite bedrooms, including 20 deluxe rooms and 6 suites, swimming pool, sauna, steam room, spa and solarium. Also, guests can make use of the gym, hairdresser and health and beauty salon. There are relaxed, informal meals provided in the bar and Clubhouse or fine dining in the elegant Oaks restaurant. |
