To elaborate on some of the above terminology: Goal setting - a process of setting targets as a means of developing motivation and directing appropriate attentional focus. Visualisation - mental rehearsal of tasks. Centering - a breathing technique to reduce tension. Performance segmenting - a means of enhancing psychological control by breaking down preparation into distinct phases. Mental fitness is basically common sense, but it is not often common practice.
