We are now into our 7th year and we have really enjoyed every step of the way. We have met many great and inspiring people; both guest speakers and guests alike. 2011 has been a super year for us and we are already looking ahead to 2012. Here are a few of the things we have planned:
2012
March 9-11: Balmoral Training weekend with special guest speaker Richard Askwith (author of fabulous hill running book called 'Feet in the Clouds' . Places are still available but going quickly! Now just 3 rooms available at Balmoral!
April 22-27: Run Across Scotland. This has been fully booked for some time.
May 9: Deeside Team Relay. A Spring evening team event (2 men, 2 women per team).
May 20-25: Run Across Scotland. 5 places left.
June 2: St. James’s Place Foundation Balmoral Half Marathon
Sept 15: NTS Crathes Half Marathon
Oct 14-19: Run Across Scotland.
Nov 9-11: Balmoral Training Weekend with special guest speaker Jamie Andrew - the mountaineer who had his hands and feet amputated following a horrific accident in the French Alps. Despite this, he has continued his mountaineering career and has gone on to run marathons and completed several triathlons; most notably the Embrun Ironman in the Hautes-Alpes in August this year.
Also, we are planning an additional (new) long distance running tour; from south to north, up the eastern side of the Cairngorms National Park. Likely dates of the first 'Run Up The Highlands' are 30th Sept - 6th Oct 2012. It will be over 6 days, fab scenery, 3 star standard hotels, guided, mostly off road, with minibus support& baggage transfers. More details soon!!
Hope you have a Happy Christmas and a healthy & enjoyable 2012!
From us all at Running The Highlands
