News from RTH and special competition prizes!
Hi from us all up here in the Highlands. We are very much looking forward to Sonia O'Sullivan and her partner Nic Bideau coming to share their experiences (fresh from the Beijing Olympics) 12-14 September. This is a chance you simply cannot miss! Don't be put off if you feel the running will be at too fast a pace for you! As ever, we provide guides who will run at literally any pace to suit you and, although you might not actually be in the same group as Sonia or Nic you will certainly have ample opportunity to meet and chat with them (over a civilised cup of tea!) Places for this weekend are booking up fast and some of the accommodation options are now full - get in touch with us asap to check out where you can stay! Our training weekends in October and November are also in demand! October 17-19 at Douneside will see Bruce Tulloh and his wife Sue as our guests. Bruce and Sue are both fantastic coaches and have written widely on fitness and running - their experience will be very valuable. Then in November (14-16) at Balmoral we have an Exercise Physiologist joining us to help de-mystify the physical fitness side of running. He will explain (and test if you wish) VO2 max and other fitness measures. We roll into 2009 with our annual Hogmanay and John R Weir Lumphanan Detox race package! 5 nights of fun, revellery and running (and a little rest and relaxation!) Book early for this one - we ran out of spaces last year early on! Finally - a chance for you to win a prize! We are very fortunate to have 5 copies of a great new book - 'Wild Gym - 50 Ways To Get Fit Outdoors' by Peta Bee (RRP £12.99) - to give away. The book is full of great ideas (some more unusual than others) of how to get out and enjoy exercise in the fresh air. As you can imagine, we are 100% behind that idea!! Well researched and written with loads of useful contacts, it is a book we would highly recommend (even if you don't win one!) To win, simply email the answer to the following question to info@runningthehighlands.com : What distance is the race which forms part of our Hogmanay Package? a) 5k b) 10k c) Half Marathon Good Luck and Happy Running - hope to see you soon!
