Neil Stewart - RTH Coordinator and Guide
Formerly an HR Director, Neil has run several marathons and long
distance routes such as the Great Glen Way. He is also the organiser of
Scotland's first 10k of the year - the John R. Weir Lumphanan Detox 10k.
Neil, a UK Athletics qualified coach, loves to share his enjoyment of
the Scottish highlands with people from all parts of the UK and the
rest of the world. |

Ruth MacKenzie - Guide
Ruth, a fitness instructor, is a
well known local running personality with an outstanding record of
achievement as evidenced by her coming fourth woman home in the
challenging Highland Cross 2006 20 mile run and 30 mile cycle in 4hours
18mins! She also finished 1st woman over 40 in the 2006 Ben Nevis Hill
Race and is still smiling! An inspiring guide, Ruth has her own
definition of 'just a bit further'!

Mel Edwards - Advisory Consultant
Top marathon coach Mel has been involved in distance running for 45
years. A fomer international marathon, cross country and hill running
athlete he has tutored UK Athletics coaches. We are incredibly
fortunate to have Mel as an advisor to Running The Highlands. He
provides personal guidance to participants on our special training
weekends and contributes a monthly training article on the website.

Jon Musgrave - Guide
Jon is a great runner, orienteer and coach – can there be a better combination for a guide?
A member of the GB orienteering squad from 1981 to 2001 he has been British orienteering champion in 1981, 1995, 2004 and 2006. He won Gold at the World Masters in 1997 and Silver at the World Championships Relay in 1993. He has been coach to the GB orienteering squad since 1998. Twice winner of the Highland Cross (1988 & 1989), former winner of the Braemar Hill Race and record holder of the Great Wilderness Challenge, Jon loves Deeside and running in general!

Emma Stewart - Fitness/flexibility Instructor
Emma is a Pilates Instructor (member of the Pilates Institute) and former Royal Academy of Dance scholar.
She
likes to combine the elements of ballet fitness and core stability with
her love of running. With an infectious personality and broad smile -
Emma's strongest talent is her ability to get the best out of people -
in a pleasant way! She enjoys running 10k's in particular.

Davie Armour - Guide
Davie is a UK Athletics Level 3 coach, and also a JogScotland Leader. He have been running for over 25 years and coaching for over 10 years. He is currently running between 70 - 80 miles per week and still racing regularly throughout Scotland.

Catriona McIntosh - Sports Masseuse and Nutrition Advsior
Not being content with being qualified in Swedish, Remedial and Sports
Massage, Catriona also has an M.Sc in Human Nutrition. Catriona, a keen
runner, is very well respected for her amazing ability to assess injury
and flexibility issues and then set about solving the problems. She is
also able to advise on injury prevention and nutrition.

Pat is a qualified massage therapist and reflexologist. Her knowledge
of and enthusiasm for running combine extremely well with her
professional training. Her warm, supportive personality plus her
indepth local knowledge make her an ideal running partner and guide.

Phil Benzie - Guide
Phil is an extremely experienced runner, Chairman of the Deeside
Runners and organiser of the Ballater 10 mile and Lairig Ghru ultra
endurance hill races. He has an extensive knowledge of the history,
flora and fauna of the area and is sure to have a story or two to tell
before, during and after runs.

Gail Nixon, Guide
Gail’s easy going, cheery and chatty nature make her a really
excellent guide to run with. A relative newcomer to running – really only having
got into it in the last 3 years, she has made up for lost time by trying all
kinds of routes in the hills. Gail’s knowledge of the area and her enthusiasm
will no doubt help to make sure that any run with her will be very enjoyable and
informative.
