Our Race Weekends – What to Expect
We normally offer a weekend package of 2-3 nights with guaranteed race entry plus optional extras such as sports massage, coaching tips, training plans, stretching and core stability sessions, guided pre-race runs and review of the race route. The only exception is our Hogmanay and John R Weir Lumphanan Detox 10k race package which is normally 4 or 5 nights and includes tickets to a Highland Hogmanay (New Year’s Eve) Ceilidh where traditional dress (kilts for the boys) and dancing are the order of the day (but not essential)!
Our Race Weekends centre around:
- Balmoral 10k/5k and Fun Run in April
- Ballater 10 Mile Race in July
- Moray Marathon, Half and 10k in September
- Loch Ness Festival of Running (Marathon, 10k and 5k) in October
- Hogmanay Package around the John R Weir Lumphanan Detox 10k which is run on 2nd January each year (giving folk a day to recover from the Hogmanay celebrations!)
Non-running partners are very welcome and will have plenty to keep them occupied and interested!

Depending on the race start time, we will make sure that you are at the
start in good time and look after your kit while you race. Most (but not all) our races are on a Sunday. We would adjust
the itinerary to suit a Saturday race accordingly.

Many of our guests like to stay for an additional night, particularly
after a Marathon Race and so the Monday morning can be spent as
required, perhaps with a massage or gentle walk before
leaving to go back home.

We strive to make sure you have the best possible time with us in this beautiful part of the country and so will gear the weekend exactly to your wishes.
